Let’s take you on a journey to discover Bolivia, a country that gave us memorable moments, although some stages were less remarkable than expected. However, two regions deeply impressed us: the South Lipez and the Salar de Uyuni.
The South Lipez, with its arid and wild landscapes, is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating parts of the country and one of the highlights of our world tour. Between colorful mountains, lagoons populated by flamingos, and bubbling geysers, this region feels like it’s out of time. Far from the crowds, the raw beauty of this untouched nature truly amazed us.
As for the Salar de Uyuni, it remains an unforgettable experience. The vast white expanse, especially at sunrise, is breathtaking. The contrast between this salt desert and the immense sky offered us moments of rare silence and contemplation. It also allowed us to get creative and capture our visit in a unique way.
The rest of the country, unfortunately, left us a bit unsatisfied. Some cities, like La Paz, lacked charm in our eyes. Potosí, though rich in history, holds little interest for travelers seeking meaningful discoveries. The colonial charm of Sucre is undeniable, but the city alone doesn’t justify a trip. Finally, Lake Titicaca, often described as a magical place, left us somewhat puzzled. The beauty of its waters and floating islands is unquestionable, but the overall experience didn’t capture our imagination as much as we had hoped.
